Research

My research interests include:

  • Understanding how present-day galaxy components (e.g. the intra-halo light) trace unobservale phenomena (e.g. dark matter distributions and assembly histories).
  • The galaxy-halo connection.
  • Placing the Milky Way's formation in a cosmological context.

My PhD research has focused on analysing the formation of dynamically-distinct stellar components in the EAGLE simulations. You can access my papers here.

About Me

I was born and raised in Fife, Scotland (hilly, cold; see left), before moving to Perth, Australia (flat, hot; see right). After a 3 year stint as a statistician, I commenced a Masters of Astrophysics at ICRAR in 2019. In 2021, I started my PhD in the Computational Theory group at ICRAR, and am currently appling for postdoc positions.

Alongside research, I enjoy participating in outreach initiatives and have contributed as an author and editor for astrobites. I also occasionally use matplotlib to take artistic liberties with astronomy-themed album covers (suggestions always welcome).
